Yasmeen Saab is a trans-disciplinary designer x fabricator from Baghdad, Iraq - where Design and art are sacred elements. Surrounded by beautiful buildings and designs with variety of natural and local materials, much of her inspiration is derived from home. Fascinated by nature and the complex matrix systems found within the world, many of her designs implement entomology, biomimicry, bio-fabrication/bio-technology, low-tech and sustainable practices. In addition, creative expressions that incorporate fashion design, art, poetry, film and music. With a background in Architecture, Fabrication, Art, Bio-technology, utilizing multimodal practices to better designs capability to solve societies unique dilemmas.
Kieran Inteus Renfrow is a trans-disciplinary designer based in Houston, Texas who specializes in Cultural preservation, indigenous vernacular, and material research. Inspired by BIPOC cultures, both indigenous and contemporary societies, highlighting design and creativity from these said cultures are implemented in all their work. In addition, emphasizing innovation in material research and sustainability in all aspects of design are imperative as a means to better respond to environmental crises around the globe. With a background in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and graphic design, finding similarities and overlaps between these disciplines helps to further evolve the design field.
